Welcome to helpfulstuff.org! This website was created for the purpose of sharing information that I have found helpful, hence the domain name helpfulstuff.org! (I would have really liked to have had usefulstuff.org but it was already taken.) Mainly you will find information about open source software and open technologies because promoting them is a passion of mine. My passion about open source is also the inspiration for the template/theme of this website. The dancing penguin and the black, yellow, and white colors coincide with the Linux logo, the emperor penguin. I chose to parallel the Linux logo because it is generally the icon for open source.

You will also find links to information relating to Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows because I use them as well as open source operating systems (Linux & *BSD).

This site is continually a work in progress. I would appreciate any comments (both positive and negative!) and recommendations that you may have. Also, please send me URLs of websites and articles that you think would be a good addition to the content of this site!
